- What inspired you to build or remodel Frog Belly Farm? We had a fire 8 years ago that burned everything but the main house to the ground. I grew up in Santa Fe New Mexico and wanted to rebuild with Adobe Block, then I found Ecoblox and contacted Lisa Morey
- What was/were the biggest challenge(s) you faced when building/remodeling the home? My husband and I chose to do the general contracting of the build with guidance and an excellent list of subcontractors from a company called HomeWrights. The learning curve was steep.
- Were there any surprises – good or bad – as you constructed the project? Working with the Ecoblox was new for all the subcontractors, so it was important that we all worked closely together finding solutions as difficulties arose that required creative solutions with buy-in from all involved.
- What is something – if anything – that you learned while building this project? I learned the depth of skill and knowledge required to build a home from start to finish is vast and I was incredibly grateful that everyone who worked on this project worked so hard and well together. Also checking and re checking rough openings for doors and windows would have caused less headaches.
- If you were to build another home like this one, is there anything that you would do differently? If I could rewind I would know that when there is a choice between a smaller or larger window in a room, to choose the larger option.
