This is what I like about my house:

  1. It’s very, very quiet.  I hear almost no external noises from traffic, aircraft, etc.
  2. It’s easy and efficient to heat and cool, My energy bills are very reasonable with my heat pump system.
  3. It’s attractive and the lime exterior coating has been pigmented so that the house blends in well with the environment.

I have been tracking my monthly electric usage since October 2023.  There is a $43.01 service and wildfire mitigation fee tacked on to every bill but my average actual electric usage cost is only $104.14 per month.  You’ll recall that my house is all electric.  This usage charge includes heating and air conditioning, water heating, kitchen and laundry, well pump, lights, everything!  I think this is pretty amazing and you can quote me if you like.  I’ll admit, I like to keep my house pretty cool – mid-60’s so my usage is probably lower than average but it’s still not outrageously expensive.

Another testament to the energy efficiency of EcoBlox construction. I normally keep my house in the summertime at 68° F using the cooling side of the heat pump system. I recently turned the system off and departed for a 10-day vacation. Upon my return, I found that the temperature in the house had only increased 2° to 70°. I thought that was pretty amazing.
